Arcadia Public Library is offering free online creative writing workshops through November. The workshops are taught by Arcadia High School student and published writer, Audrey Sloeng, who is completing her Girl Scout Gold Award.
Each workshop focuses on a different genre—journaling, flash stories, poetry, song writing, and free writing—and lets teens express themselves and share their work in a safe and encouraging environment.
The workshops are open to students in grades 6 through 12. They last four workshops will be held Oct. 17, 24 and Nov. 14 from 3 to 4 p.m., and the Nov. 24 workshop is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Teens do not have to attend all the classes, although it is strongly recommended that the poetry writing workshop be taken with the song writing workshop.
